The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has reported a $72 million decrease in its foreign exchange reserves due to routine external debt repayments.
According to the SBP’s official statement, the central bank’s reserves have declined from $14.30 billion to $14.23 billion. At the same time, commercial banks witnessed a reduction of $67 million, bringing their total reserves to $5.23 billion.
As a result, Pakistan’s overall foreign exchange reserves have fallen from $19.60 billion to $19.49 billion.

The decline highlights Pakistan’s ongoing external debt servicing commitments and the routine fluctuations in the banking sector’s foreign currency assets.
