The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has begun the auction of several high-value properties belonging to real estate tycoon Malik Riaz.
According to a press release from NAB, two major properties have already been sold:
Bahria Town Corporate Office II, located at Plot No. 7-D, Park Road, Phase II, Rawalpindi, fetched Rs. 880.6 million.
Rubaish Marquee & Lawn, situated near Bahria Garden City Golf Course, Islamabad, was auctioned for Rs. 508.3 million.
Together, these sales have generated over Rs. 1.3 billion, with the amount expected to rise further as the auction progresses. Officials anticipate that all listed properties will be sold by the end of the day.
The auction follows a decision earlier this week by the Islamabad High Court (IHC), which granted NAB permission to proceed with the sale of Bahria Town assets linked to Malik Riaz.
