The government has increased the levy on petrol and diesel by Rs 2.5 per litre, while the freight margin on diesel has also been increased by 20 paisa per liter, media reported on Saturday.
According to the report, the climate support levy on petrol and diesel has been maintained at Rs 2.5 per liter. According to sources, the levy on diesel has been increased from Rs 74.51 to Rs 77.01 per liter, while the diesel freight margin has been increased to Rs 6.24 per liter.
Sources say that the levy on petrol has been increased from Rs 75.52 to Rs 78.2 per liter, and the climate support levy on petrol and diesel is Rs 2.50 per liter, which has been maintained.
According to sources, the dealers’ margin on petrol and diesel is Rs 8.64 per liter, the distributors’ margin on petrol and diesel is Rs 7.87 per liter, and the sales tax rate on petrol and diesel has been maintained at zero. In total, a tax of about Rs 100 per liter is being collected on petroleum products.
It should be noted that recently the government decreased the price of petrol by over Rs. 7 for the next fortnight.
