The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has released a detailed report outlining the human toll caused by monsoon rains across Pakistan from June 26 to July 9.
According to the report, a total of 87 people lost their lives and 149 were injured due to monsoon-related incidents. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was the hardest-hit province, with 30 fatalities—including 14 children—and 30 injuries. Punjab reported 29 deaths, including 15 children and 4 women, while 77 people sustained injuries.
In other regions, 16 people died in Sindh, 11 in Balochistan, and 1 in Azad Kashmir. Additionally, 34 people were injured in Sindh, 3 in Balochistan, and 5 in Azad Kashmir. Over the past 24 hours alone, six more deaths have been reported.
NDMA attributed the highest number of casualties to incidents of flash flooding during the monsoon season.
