Moonis Alvi has been reappointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of K-Electric. He will assume his duties as CEO from July 30, 2025.
According to details, the Board of Directors, in its meeting held on July 7, 2025, reappointed Syed Moonis Abdullah Alvi as the CEO of K-Electric, effective from July 30, 2025.
K-Electric has issued a notification regarding the CEO’s reappointment and has also informed the stock exchange about it. Syed Moonis Abdullah Alvi will continue to perform his duties as CEO from July 30, 2025. He is currently serving as the company’s CEO.
Moonis Alvi joined KE in 2008 and, prior to his appointment as CEO in 2018, played key roles in the organization as CFO, Company Secretary, and Head of Treasury.
He has 30 years of diverse financial experience and has led the transformation of the company into a digital enterprise, aiming to facilitate customer access to energy and promote investment.
It is worth noting that K-Electric (KE) is a publicly listed company, established in 1913, and joined Pakistan after independence under the name KESC (Karachi Electric Supply Corporation).
The company was privatized in 2005. K-Electric is Pakistan’s only vertically integrated power utility, providing electricity to Karachi and its surrounding areas.
66.4% of the company’s majority shares are owned by KES Power, a consortium of investors including Saudi Arabia’s Aljomaih Power Limited, National Industries Group (Holding) Kuwait, and the Infrastructure and Growth Capital Fund (IGCF).
The Government of Pakistan also owns 24.36% of the shares in the company. The remaining shares are listed as free float shares.
