A representative for WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has shut down recent speculation about the wrestler’s health, insisting he is not on his deathbed.
The rumours, which spread rapidly online, were sparked by YouTuber Bubba The Love Sponge, who claimed Hogan was hospitalised in serious condition and that his family was being urged to say their goodbyes.
“If you did some sniffing around, you might find him in a hospital near you and it’s not good,” Bubba said during a recent stream. “I got some pretty reliable information last night that there are phone calls being made to various family members about getting to town to come say your goodbyes.”
However, Hogan’s representatives quickly dismissed the claims. A representative confirmed there was “no reason to panic.” While it’s true that Hogan was recently hospitalised due to neck and back issues, the situation is not as grave as some have suggested.
The 71-year-old wrestling icon has dealt with ongoing spinal problems for years and recently underwent neck surgery.
He further clarified that the procedure “has indeed been successful” and that Hogan is currently recovering. These types of surgeries are not unusual for the former wrestler, who has faced decades of wear and tear from his time in the ring.
Hogan, born Terry Gene Bollea, rose to fame in the 1980s and has remained a central figure in professional wrestling for over four decades. Known for his larger-than-life persona, he also starred in the reality series Hogan Knows Best.
