Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has rejected the proposal to impose new taxes in the province. This development came after the ministerial committee presented its recommendations regarding the budget, as reported by national media on Wednesday.
According to details, the ministerial committee submitted its Punjab budget-related recommendations to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, who rejected the proposal to impose new taxes in the budget, reaffirming her commitment to safeguarding public interests.
A report citing sources claimed that Maryam Nawaz turned down the recommendation to impose an additional 2% tax on houses measuring 10 marlas or more. The proposal to increase the motor vehicle tax by 2% was also rejected. The Punjab Chief Minister directed officials to bring those outside the tax net into the tax system.
