A recently unveiled statue of legendary Pakistani fast bowler Wasim Akram outside Hyderabad’s Niaz Stadium has triggered a wave of online memes. Meant to pay tribute to the “Sultan of Swing,” the statue has drawn widespread mockery from fans due to its lack of resemblance to the former cricketer.
The statue, depicting Akram in his iconic bowling pose and wearing a green shirt, has been installed outside Hyderabad’s Niaz Stadium.
But when pictures of the statue went online, users complained and even joked that it resembled a shoddy online purchase, likening it to a substandard “Teemo” product.
