Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed a volatile session on Thursday, and the benchmark KSE-100 Index dropped by -0.13% or -157.86 points, closing at 121,641.00 points against 121,798.86 points in the previous session.
At the onset market gained over 300 points to reach 122,281.58 points, but due to selling pressure could not maintain the momentum and started dropping points.
A total of 407,268,101 shares were traded during the day as compared to 710,591,203 shares on the previous trading day, whereas the price of shares stood at Rs 16.392 billion against Rs 35.216 billion on the last trading day.
As many as 477 companies transacted their shares in the stock market, 216 of them recorded gains and 208 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 53 companies remained unchanged.
A mixed trend was observed in key sectors, including automobile assemblers, commercial banks, fertilizer, oil and gas exploration companies, and OMCs. Index-heavy stocks, including MARI, POL, WAFI, and MCB, traded in the green.
