A storm and heavy rain have caused devastation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the deaths of 5 people due to lightning strikes and the collapse of walls and roofs.
According to details, various deadly incidents occurred in different cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a result of the storm and heavy rain, leading to the death of 5 people and injuries to several others.
In the Takht Bhai area of Mardan, a mother and daughter died when the roof of a room collapsed, while in other locations, 10 people, including 3 children, were injured due to the collapse of walls and roofs.
In the Safi subdivision of Mohmand, in Khanqah Marble Drang, two people died and one was injured due to a lightning strike. In the village of Bahadur Khan in Khushro, Attock, a religious school student died after being struck by lightning. The bodies of the deceased have been moved to the hospital.
Rain and strong winds caused trees to fall on several roads, disrupting the communication system. Rescue teams are engaged in relief activities.
It is worth noting that every year, hundreds of people lose their lives due to heavy rain and storms. However, the government takes minimal steps to protect the poor from such incidents.
