The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meeting to sight the Shawwal moon will be held today, as reported by national media on Sunday.
According to a report, the meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee for moon sighting in Pakistan will take place today in Islamabad.
The meeting will be chaired by Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, while provincial Ruet-e-Hilal committees will hold meetings in their respective areas.
Pakistan’s space agency, SUPARCO, has stated that the Shawwal moon was formed yesterday at 3:58 PM Pakistan time. At sunset today, the moon will be approximately 27 hours old, making it highly likely to be visible in Pakistan.
The Bohra community in Pakistan is celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr today, while Awami National Party (ANP) chief Aimal Wali Khan has also announced Eid celebrations today.
Meanwhile, Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated today in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and various Gulf countries, while in the UK, Canada, and several European countries, Eid is expected to be observed on March 31.
