The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has organized an impressive flypast featuring jets from the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) on February 19 to celebrate the commencement of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Consequently, Jinnah International Airport in Karachi will be temporarily closed.
In anticipation of the tournament’s opening ceremony, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) to inform both national and international airlines.
During the flypast, a specific air corridor will be closed, prohibiting any flights from landing or taking off between 1:30 PM and 2:30 PM.
As a safety measure, commercial flights arriving at Karachi Airport have been advised to carry extra fuel and implement necessary precautions.
The Civil Aviation Authority has officially relayed these instructions to all airlines through the NOTAM.
According to the information provided, several flights will experience minor schedule adjustments, including AirSial’s flight from Lahore to Karachi (PF-144), Fly Jinnah’s flight from Lahore to Karachi (9P-843), and Airblue’s flight from Karachi to Lahore (PA-402).
Travelers flying to and from Karachi and Lahore are encouraged to verify updated schedules with their respective airlines.
