The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has officially waived parking fees at its designated parking sites.
An official notification will be issued to inform the public and prevent unauthorized fee collection under KMC’s name, with legal action to be taken against violators.
Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, clarified that parking fees will no longer be charged on 46 of the 106 main roads in Karachi. However, fees will still apply in 25 towns and six cantonment board areas.
This initiative aligns with KMC’s commitment to public convenience, which remains a top priority. The mayor emphasized that the decision is in the public interest, as KMC is currently in a stable financial position, with over Rs 2 billion in its account and additional funds expected.

Moreover, to address rising accidents linked to the daytime entry of heavy dumpers into the city, new restrictions have been introduced. Dumpers will now only be permitted entry after 11 PM and must exit by 6 AM, as per the directives of the relevant authorities.
