The Sindh government has announced revoking of the age relaxation for jobs, a move that would jolt the candidates who are overage for government employment.
A notification has been issued by the Sindh government stating that age relaxation in government jobs will end in January 2025.
According to the notification, the age limit for recruitment in the Sindh government’s departments is generally between 18 and 28 years.
However, the provincial government has been granting a relaxation of 15 years, allowing individuals up to 43 years of age to apply for jobs.
Now, this relaxation will be abolished starting January 1, 2025.
Sindh introduced a 15-year age relaxation for job applicants in 2021. This policy was aimed at providing opportunities to candidates who were affected by previous employment challenges, particularly during economic downturns and the COVID-19 pandemic. The age relaxation was specifically applicable to various government job positions in the province.
It is also important to mention that there was a ban on government jobs in Sindh for a long period. When the ban was lifted
