The Islamabad High Court has dismissed the petitions filed by PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi challenging their arrest in the Toshakhana 2 case.
During the hearing, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor informed the court that the Toshakhana reference had been officially filed, allowing Khan and Bibi the option to apply for post-arrest bail.
Advocate Salman Safdar, representing the petitioners, argued that the court had previously criticized the vagueness of the call-up notices issued in the case. He questioned the legitimacy of proceeding with the reference while fundamental rights issues related to the case were still unresolved.
Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb asked whether the prosecution had addressed the court’s earlier questions, including those about the call-up notices. The investigating officer confirmed that a response had been submitted, but Safdar noted that he had not yet received the reference number.
Justice Aurangzeb continued to record the prosecutor’s statements, underscoring the court’s focus on the legal details of the case.
