Sindh Transport Minister, Sharjeel Inam Memon, announced on Friday the initiation of new transport projects immediately following Eid ul Fitr.
Through his official handle on X, he conveyed, “Good news for the people of Sindh. Under the direction of Chairman @BBhuttoZardari, the Transport Department is going to start new transport projects in Sindh right after the Eid Holidays.”
Memon outlined several targets his department aims to accomplish. He revealed that the second phase of the Women’s Pink Bus service will be inaugurated after Eid ul Fitr. Additionally, new routes for electric vehicle (EV) buses and the Peoples Bus Service will be introduced in Karachi and Mirpur Khas.
Moreover, Memon announced plans for the People’s Bus Service to commence a free shuttle service between the Orange Line BRT and Green Line BRT. Furthermore, the government intends to augment the existing fleet of the People’s Bus Service by adding five hundred buses soon.
Notably, in October 2023, Memon welcomed new buses for the Karachi Peoples Bus project.
