ISLAMABAD: The meeting of the federal cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will be held in Islamabad today in which the current political, economic, and security situation of the country will be considered.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will preside over the Federal Cabinet meeting at 11 am in the Prime Minister’s Office. According to the sources, the cabinet members will be taken into confidence in the negotiations with the IMF.
The economic and security situation of the country will also be discussed in the meeting. A briefing on the situation in the region will also be given. Sources said that the Cabinet will ratify the decisions taken in the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) meeting.
According to sources, the federal cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also discuss the privatization plan, while the approval of privatization of various institutions is also expected.
Informed sources say that the government has assured the IMF of the privatization of 25 government institutions, and the cabinet will be taken into confidence regarding the privatization of these institutions.
