Indian actress Soumya Shetty, who has been accused of stealing 150 tola gold from the house of a man she befriended some time ago, has issued a threat of suicide to investigators.
Media reports indicate that 74 tolas of the stolen gold have been recovered by the police. However, Shetty has informed authorities that she is unable to return the remaining gold, asserting that she will resort to suicide if further pressure is applied.
The arrest of Soumya Shetty for gold theft follows a complaint filed by government official Prasad Babu. Babu alleges that Shetty, whom he met during a movie audition, had developed a friendship with him, often visiting his home and even utilizing his facilities. He discovered the gold missing upon returning from a wedding, implicating Shetty in the theft and claiming that she subsequently embarked on a luxury vacation to Goa.
In connection with the gold theft case, police have apprehended a total of 11 individuals, including Soumya Shetty, and investigations are ongoing.
Soumya is active on platforms like Instagram. She is an aspiring actress and worked in the film Shivam.
