Politics with economy

Nadeem Moulvi by Nadeem Moulvi

Everyone seemed to be playing politics with the country’s economy. Sometimes the politicians did, sometimes the businessmen, sometimes the enemies did what they could never do at the borders to destroy our economy through their spies. Enemies have poisoned the hearts of people through social media and some ignorant politicians to harm Pakistan internally and eradicate patriotism and humanity from their hearts. The first thing to destroy the economy is to turn people against each other and spread false rumors about their own country.

When we badmouth our own country, foreign investors do not invest in our country because they think that if they invest in a country whose own people are badmouthing the country, they will face losses. We have always seen politics over the economy. Some rich people invest money in politicians for their own interest, so that laws are made in their interest and those politicians work for their interest. This is the reason why common people have not been able to enter important business sectors in Pakistan to date.

There are certain people who have been found in the sugar business, cement business, power sector, telecommunication sector, automobile sector, pharmaceutical industry, and many other important sectors over the last many years. When the government asks them to reduce the prices, they blackmail the government saying that if they close the institutions, the country will face problems and people will become unemployed. This is the reason why sometimes the things we import are cheaper than the ones made in the country, but still we don’t import them and our people have to buy things from the companies in Pakistan who have made cartels and have set their own prices.

The media is also used to politicize the economy. There are various stories in the media that support the private sector and provide huge amounts of money to the media from various sources. For example, when K Electric was owned by the government, the government was criticized every day and it was said that electricity was expensive. At that time there were 30% line losses. Today the same department is facing 15% line losses, while that department has been privatized and has increased the electricity prices by 180%.

If we talk about cement, there are 20 cement factories in Pakistan which are selling cement all over Pakistan. A bag of cement has gone from 120 rupees to 1200 today, but neither the people could stop its price nor the government could do anything in this matter. In the same way, there are many sectors, which one should be identified? The funny thing is that when Pakistan went to international organizations, those international organizations also played politics with Pakistan. IMF is an organization that was created to help poor countries and improve their economies. Pakistan has been following the path indicated by the IMF for 7 years, but due to the policies indicated by the IMF, the dollar has gone from 110 rupees to 330 rupees and the price of petrol has exceeded 80 rupees to 300 rupees.

As per the IMF policies, we have also seen the interest rate increase in these few years from 5% to 20%. Considering the additional costs, it seems that the policies given by the IMF to Pakistan were not correct, but even today we do not say this to the IMF. Now the world has to think whether the conditions of the IMF improve the countries or not. Because Pakistan has always created a storm of inflation for the Pakistani people by following the terms of the IMF.

Now if any institution or government raises its voice against them, IMF and other external powers spread propaganda against our institutions and rulers on social media that Pakistan is being abused by their institutions. It will be remembered that when the institutions of Pakistan and the government of Pakistan make decisions in favor of Pakistan, our enemy countries try to create an atmosphere of chaos in the country by spreading false news to Pakistanis through social media and creating doubt in the hearts of Pakistanis. If you want the economy in Pakistan to improve, then do not criticize your country and institutions and work for the betterment of the country.
