The need for revolution

Shahid Shahnawaz by Shahid Shahnawaz

Pakistan is a country like dozens of other countries in the world whose policies and statements of officials can be praised or criticized, in the same way Pakistani people are also criticized by people of different countries.

For example, public discourse in Pakistan often revolves around justice, law and order situation and political freedom. Many people seem to express their opinions, concerns and impressions in an emotional way.

It creates an impression of how good people are, wanting to solve the problems of their country. That’s exactly the point. People want to solve the problems but then the media presents some particular news and we forget all about it. Breaking news and trending stories take the place of old news.

It can be said here that perhaps we need an app to remind us of our own problems that we were so excited about the day before and also suggest solutions, the app asked us this question. O mister! What was you saying yesterday and What happened today?  according to Ghalib:

بے نیازی حد سے گزری بندہ پرور کب تلک

ہم کہیں گے حالِ دل اور آپ فرمائیں گے کیا؟

حضرتِ ناصح گر آئیں، دیدہ و دل فرشِ راہ

کوئی مجھ کو یہ تو سمجھا دو کہ سمجھائیں گے کیا؟

As serious, enthusiastic and determined as the people are for the development of the country, some of our politicians can be said to be as shrewd, cunning and to some extent opportunistic who become the best friends of the people during voting days.

As the elections draw near, all the maneuvering preparations are completed. Despite being well aware of this seasonal friendship, even the simple people cling to hope and dreams of a bright future, but no hope seems to be coming. People look forward to that magical day when all problems will magically disappear by themselves. We also know that this cannot happen, but the world is based on hope. Then what to do?

Self-proclaimed revolutionary people will be found in abundance in every corner of the country. They discuss political change. A better society is envisioned. Revolutionary quotes are also enthusiastically shared on social media, but when it comes to actively being a part of a campaign, maybe 10 out of 100 people you will find standing with you.  Perhaps, we need to introduce the Revolution Starter Kit.

Despite all the flaws, there is no denying the unwavering love of Pakistanis for their motherland who show great patriotism from chanting slogans to sacrificing their lives. Be it standing shoulder to shoulder with our brave armed forces or risking our lives for the security of the country, the enthusiasm of the Pakistani nation has been unforgettable.

In the end, it also feels necessary to say that with the passage of time, the nation needs to bring about a revolution in its political consciousness that will teach them to enter the field of action to deal with the challenges of the new era and teach them to do their best for their country. Encourage them to do more than they usually do because hardly any country needs it more than Pakistan today.
