PM’s important message

Editorial by Editorial

Reading Time: 2 mins read

It has been more than one year since Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif led the PDM government, and during this time, PTI was constantly under torment, how many leaders who supported Imran Khan have now left the party.

At first, the house of Imran Khan was bulldozed, on which the leading leaders of Tehreek-e-Insaf raised their voices and criticized the government, but after the events of May 9, a large number of people raised slogans in favor of the Pakistan Army.

In a recent tweet by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, former Prime Minister and well-known cricketer Imran Khan has been accused of worrisome allegations. Prime Minister Shehbaz claims that the attack on Jinnah House and other sensitive facilities was a direct result of Imran Khan’s speeches in the last one year, but this serious allegation requires special attention and real investigation from the readers.

Imran Khan, a figure who has always emphasized the importance of peaceful resolutions and diplomacy, linking him to acts of terrorism is a serious allegation that requires concrete evidence. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s tweet shows that Imran Khan is resorting to religion to declare his political movement as a war between truth and lies, but it is important to distinguish between political rhetoric and promotion of violence.

Imran Khan has consistently supported democratic principles and the rule of law throughout his political career. Although he seems to use strong language to express his views, it is not true to claim that Imran Khan was promoting violence or terrorism. There is talk of promoting transparency, and social justice, but criticizing any institution, including the armed forces, while upholding democratic values is not something that can be termed as terrorism.

Moreover, the allegation that Imran Khan has cleverly created a cult and incited violence through slogans like “real freedom” is not valid. It is important to note that political slogans are often used to rally supporters and create a sense of unity. However, it would be wrong and unfair to attribute the actions of a few people to all the supporters of Imran Khan. Every political party has its share of misguided individuals, and it is unfair to paint an entire movement violently based on the actions of a few.

If we are to truly investigate the attack on Jinnah House and other sensitive installations, it is necessary to conduct an objective investigation of the incident and rely on evidence instead of resorting to baseless allegations. Engaging in constructive dialogue, focusing on the facts, and encouraging open inquiry will lead us closer to the truth.
