LAHORE: Lahore police have registered cases against miscreants who were involved in the torching, ransacking, and stealing incidents at Jinnah House, the residence of Lahore Corps Commander.

The violent protesters, who were wielding sticks and carrying PTI flags, set the house on fire and took away valuables from the premises. The city police have filed cases against the miscreants under terrorism charges.
The incident occurred after the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chief Imran Khan was arrested by the paramilitary forces inside the Islamabad High Court on Tuesday. The arrest triggered violent protests, with rioters damaging public property and military installations across the country. The law enforcers are currently identifying the elements involved in these acts of violence.

According to the FIR, the violent PTI workers were equipped with firearms, clubs, stones, and petrol bombs. Sources have reported that law enforcement personnel are also arresting those responsible for damaging public property in different areas across the country.
The incident has caused widespread condemnation, with leaders across the political spectrum calling for an end to such violent protests and arrest of every single person involved in it.
The PTI leadership has distanced itself from the violence and called for calm, asking supporters to protest peacefully.
The federal and provincial governments have vowed to take strict action against those responsible for the violent protests and to ensure the safety of citizens and public property.
