According to reports made available from multiple media outlets, Gandapur had been detained in connection with a case relating to anti-state speeches and tweets, on a complaint filed by a citizen named Amanullah.
The civil judge hearing the case has disposed of it and ordered Gandapur’s release. However, according to sources, Thatta Police have now reached Shikarpur to take custody of Gandapur in a separate case registered in their jurisdiction.
Earlier on April 21, the court had approved a 14-day judicial remand for Gandapur in a provocative speech case and directed the police to produce him before it again on April 26.
