Marrying after 20 years they first got engaged, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are taking their relationship to professional level as well.
Following the release of “Air,” Affleck and Matt Damon’s new production company Artists Equity will begin work on a biopic of Anthony Robles, a world-renowned wrestler who was born without a leg. JLo will star in the movie.
When asked about the speculations that Lopez might be a part of the movie during an interview with CBS News, Affleck attempted to deflect the question by playfully stating that he could name the actor who would play Robles.
“We always hire the very best performers. And in this case, I can say every single person that’s been cast so far I think is the very absolute best choice,” he said.
The interviewer called him out for “dancing around” the question, and that’s when he confirmed “Yes, I believe Jennifer Lopez may be doing that movie.”
“Can’t make it look like she’s doing it as a favor to me, but actually she is,” he laughed.
Speaking about the prospect of working with both his wife and longtime best friend Damon, he said, “What fun, what a joy to do something with her, see her be great, go to work with your wife, go to work with your best friend.
Affleck and Damon have been pals for the majority of their lives after first meeting in their Massachusetts hometown when they were little kids.
Affleck has known Lopez for a long time; the two first connected when filming the movie “Gigli” in 2002.
In July of that year, she divorced her then-husband Cris Judd, and by November, she had become engaged to Affleck.
The pair split up in 2004 and later got married and had kids with other people. But they reconciled in 2021, and they got married the following year.
