Battle for ‘Takhat-e-Lahore’

The power struggle has always been a part of human history and until the aspect of religion or justice was involved, the law of the jungle prevailed which unfortunately prevails even in modern times.

What is the law of the jungle? If you want to understand it in simple words, phrases like “Jis ki lathi uski bhens”, “Andher nagri ad chop raj” are the best examples to understand the situation.

In the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, a man carried his wife on a gurney to the hospital because he did not have an ambulance. Taking the example of Pakistan, health facilities have disappeared from hospitals and education from educational institutions. Nepotism and bribery are common in every institution.

Whether it is the judiciary, the politicians or the police, everywhere instead of the rule of law, the worst injustice and bribery is seen. A similar story was seen in the Battle for Takht-e-Lahore.

Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi had to get a vote of confidence. The Governor had to withdraw the notification de-notifying the Chief Minister and the Lahore High Court dismissed the petition.

The good thing about this whole story is that there was no time to impose Governor’s rule or to elect a new Chief Minister in Punjab, which could have caused the country to suffer more political and economic crisis.

It is said that everything is fair in love and war and in Pakistan, this formula is seen at its peak when political parties are engaged in a confrontation with each other.

When a political party gets an opportunity, it does not shy away from blaming and slandering the other, and when it comes to its own performance, it starts looking at the sides.

On the one hand, PM Shehbaz Sharif is visiting the United Arab Emirates to get relief of Rs2 billion to the country, while on the other hand, the political atmosphere was being heated in Punjab.

In such a situation, Governor Punjab Balighur Rehman took a good step by withdrawing the order to de-notify the Chief Minister, with which the ongoing political tussle in Punjab seems to be coming to an end.
