PTI’s long march

MM News Staff by MM News Staff

After the big challenge of devastating floods across the country, the federal government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, is now facing another serious challenge of the long march towards the federal capital Islamabad by Chairman PTI Imran Khan.

Undoubtedly, Sindh and Balochistan were the most affected provinces by the floods, and the outbreak of diseases caused by the flood water is no less than a challenge for the government, and now Imran Khan’s expected long march is not something that can be ignored.

Yesterday, the federal government filed a contempt of court petition against Imran Khan. It seems that in this way the government wants to reduce the pressure on it which is created by Imran Khan’s upcoming long march announcement. In the petition, the government contended that Imran Khan’s long march towards Islamabad will be a violation of the Supreme Court orders.

In the petition, filed by the Ministry of Interior against Imran Khan in the top court, it was said that the Supreme Court allowed Imran Khan to hold a peaceful protest, but Imran Khan is again making announcements about the attack on Islamabad along with millions of people, sot the court should take notice of his announcements.

Yesterday, the District and Sessions Court Islamabad approved Imran Khan’s permanent bail application in two cases including the woman judge threat case. On the same day, PTI Senator Azam Khan Swati, who is the former Minister of Railways, was arrested. The FIA presented him in court and obtained his two-day physical remand.

It seems that the government wants to increase pressure on PTI by arresting PTI leaders and registering cases against Imran Khan so that PTI could not organize a long march toward Islamabad.

While addressing a gathering at Agriculture University Rawalpindi on Thursday, Imran Khan said that jail is a small thing for him, he can even sacrifice his life for real freedom. He urged the youths to come out for real freedom and said that cowards cannot stand up against injustices in society. Khan was of the view that hence he stands against thieves, that is why new cases are filed against him every day.

When Imran Khan was asked that PTI’s senator has been arrested, what will he do? He replied that they will approach the court. This reply shows that at present he has no intention of taking any illegal steps against the government.

However, the talks of giving life for real freedom and urging the youths to leave their homes for real freedom, show that Khan can announce the long march’s date anytime. And if he does so it will be a big challenge for the government to stop millions of people from entering Islamabad.
