KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee on Tuesday extended its gaining streak against the US dollar in the interbank market for the 13th consecutive session.
According to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Tuesday of the interbank trading, the rupee gained just 18 paisas against the US dollar.
The rupee closed the trading day up at Rs217.79.
By contrast, the rupee had closed at Rs217.97 on Monday evening after having appreciated by 0.89%.

The Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP) said that banks were selling the dollar for Rs218.30 at the time. The open market price of the dollar ranged from 217 to 219 rupees.
After plunging as low as Rs239.94 on September 22, the rupee has gained Rs19.79 (8.26%) in the last 11 sessions.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the Pakistani rupee increased by Rs1.96 to settle at Rs217.97 today (SBP). This is an increase of 0.89 percent.
