KARACHI: The police officially dismissed a claim of female employee being ganged raped by 22 men in a well-known factory named Artistic Milliners which is based in Korangi and termed it fabricated and baseless.

Deputy Inspector General Police Karachi East Muqadas Haider has termed the viral posts on social media regarding the gang-rape and murder of a girl in a factory in Korangi Industrial Area as fake, fabricated, and baseless.

Since last night, the hashtag ‘Artistic Milliners Rape Case’ has been trending on Twitter. According to DIG East, very inappropriate news against the company is being circulated on social media without verification. Fake news was created by linking the incident to this factory with the videos of one of the girls.

Mukkads Haider has confirmed on his own that no such incident has taken place in any factory in Korangi Industrial Area. He said, “No one has any details about who that girl was. Where did you live? Where was his body taken? Which police station took action? In which hospital did the postmortem of the body take place? Who were the relatives? Without knowing all this, the enemies of the country and society are spreading such fake and fabricated news.”

According to the DIG, the matter is also being investigated as to who can do such fabricated action due to a personal grudge against the factory or its management. According to Holy Haider, strict action will be taken against the elements of such forgery and fake news spreaders.

As per multiple tweets, a female employee of Artistic Milliners has been allegedly raped by over 20 men inside the office premises. She was allegedly asked to work overtime after which she was drugged before being raped in the HR jurisdiction by 20-22 men throughout the night.

She was later tortured as burning cigarettes were put on her bare skin. As per the tweets, she struggled to leave the building at 6 am, however, passed away outside the office premises. Another tweet claimed that she was killed after she was raped.
