Difficulties of incarceration

Shahid Shahnawaz by Shahid Shahnawaz

At least 2 leading politicians of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf are currently facing the hardships of imprisonment, one of them belongs to Punjab and the other to Sindh. Yes, you got it right. We are talking about Shahbaz Gill and Haleem Adil Sheikh respectively. Both are considered to be staunch players of PTI.

Shehbaz Gill belongs to Faisalabad in Punjab, who has served as the spokesperson of the Punjab government during the tenure of former Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and then as Special Assistant to former Prime Minister Imran Khan for political communication. Apart from politics, if any other field of expertise of Shahbaz Gill can be said, it would be education.

On the other hand, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Sindh is Haleem Adil Shaikh, who is serving as the leader of the opposition in the Sindh Assembly. Former President PTI Karachi Firdous Shamim Naqvi also held the same position before him, but nowadays opposition leader Haleem Adil Sheikh is facing difficulties of imprisonment.

Some videos of PTI leaders Shehbaz Gill and Haleem Adil Shaikh that have gone viral on social media show that the police have allegedly tortured the two PTI leaders in Islamabad and Karachi respectively.

Yesterday also, former Governor of Sindh and PTI leader Imran Ismail said that the fault of Haleem Adil Sheikh and Shahbaz Gill is to resist the imported government. In the past, these rulers silenced many political leaders. Journalists were killed in Sindh, but we are fighting against this cruelty because the dark night of oppression is going to pass soon.

After a video of the torture of Haleem Adil Sheikh went viral on social media, former Prime Minister Imran Khan said 2 days ago that he strongly condemns the torture of our opposition leader Haleem Adil Sheikh in Sindh. Pakistan is in the hands of a group of criminals. These mafias know very well that they will reach their political end in the elections.

It should be noted that in Imran Khan’s statement, the group of criminals and mafias refers to the current coalition government led by Muslim League (N). Chairman PTI Imran Khan said that every tactic of mafias is being used to threaten our people.

You may remember that during the time of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, the present Railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, his son and former Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz and other opposition leaders were making appearances and at that time political Analysts said that investigative agencies are facing failure to prove cases.

PTI is going through a similar situation today. Political cases are registered, then the court gives relief to the politicians and the government turns a blind eye. Why go away, Imran Khan was granted bail in 2 cases in one day. If it was not given, the government was ready to arrest the former prime minister.

Courts are failing to deliver justice to people because every other day some politician is visiting some court. Judges of various courts, including the Islamabad High Court, have said on several occasions that the court is not the right forum to deal with political matters.

The current Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah had clearly said that if Imran Khan’s bail is not granted, then he will be arrested from the court premises, but this did not happen. What is needed is that politicians try to resolve their disputes through understanding instead of taking them to the court.
