Last ‘love’ letter

MM News Staff by MM News Staff

Reading Time: 2 mins read

In the past, when the means of communication were limited, the beloved kept in touch through letters. With the passage of time, they started describing their feelings on time and with the advent of mobile phone, communication became even easier.

Although the practice of writing letters has become fewer today but sometimes even today when a loved one receives a letter from his partner, he becomes happier. The lover gets lost in the beautiful memories of the past. Nowadays, the people of Pakistan are witnessing such a “love” letter.

By the way, this letter is not about love, but it contains terrible threats. In a letter from Pakistan’s beloved America, threats have been made to our Prime Minister Imran Khan. Addressing a public rally in Islamabad last week, he waved a paper saying that it contained evidence of a “foreign-funded conspiracy” to topple his government. He claimed that he was being punished for pursuing an “independent foreign policy” and not succumbing to foreign diktat.

It is indeed a very serious allegation of foreign interference in the country’s domestic political matters. But instead of taking the matter to the proper elected and security forums, the prime minister chose to make it a public issue, raising questions about the credibility of the claim. Such allegations won’t help him salvage the situation.

In the past, when lovers used letters to communicate, most of the postmen used to change their love letters and sometimes they would run away with their lover while delivering the letter. The envious people are raising objection to the love letter received by Imran Khan that the letter is also a ploy of the postman.

Here the postman could be referred as an “Ambassador” or Shah Mehmood Qureshi. In any case, Imran Khan has received the letter and annoyed by his beloved. Now only Allah knows best whether the rival opposition has played this game or the postmaster himself is in the process of ousting his girlfriend. However, the fact is that the lover is in a bad condition after receiving the letter from his girlfriend.

Today may be the last test for the lover and he strongly hopes that this letter was written by his girlfriend. The rivals have joined hands with his lover but still he hopes that he can stand firm in this field of love by thwarting the conspiracies. PM Imran may believe that this letter based on infidelity will win the sympathy of those who see it but it may not be possible now.

It is worth asking why taking the letter to the NSC was not the first thing to have crossed the Foreign Office’s mind. If it was clear that a line had been crossed, why was this unveiled through a prop at a political event? Who advised the prime minister that this was the best strategy to take?

The prime minister also owes it to the Pakistani people to reveal who he believes are the internal elements facilitating this alleged conspiracy against the country. It cannot only be the politicians at fault.
