The Muslim world

Ambassador Dr. Jamil by Ambassador Dr. Jamil

The Muslim Ummah stands at a turning point in the changing landscape of the world, where many groups of Islamic countries were engaged in conflicts with each other. The powerful forces of the world, in order to achieve their interests and ambitions, have been recruiting fighters from all Muslim Ummah in the name of Mujahideen.

Coincidentally, Pakistan is leading the way in this battle. These veto-wielding Western powers, by uniting the Muslims and branding a country like Russia as infidel, inflame their emotions to such an extent that they got ready for jihad.

The issue does not end there, but they never shy away from promoting the first rifts in the divisive Muslim countries. As a result, most Muslim countries become weaker and it becomes their necessitation to follow the dictates of their masters. The question is whether this kind of jihad has played a significant role in the propagation of Islam.

Our prosperous and peaceful homeland was advancing rapidly in the 60’s and passing through the stages of development in an efficient manner. We could be source of economic power with the only nuclear power of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Probably this was the factor that our enemies created obstacles for us and today we are moving towards backwardness instead of progress and our backbone ‘economy’ has broken it. And a nation with a broken economy always fails to move forward, and perhaps that was the vision of these opposing forces.

Pakistan’s nuclear power was always a problem for Israel and most of the western countries from the very beginning and now it is being resonating in the political chambers of our country. Voices are also being heard that Pakistan’s central bank should be handed over to the IMF, which can shake the sovereignty of the country.

Now it is the duty of every member of the beloved homeland to participate in the economic affairs of the country and to wage jihad (that does not only mean killing). So that we can not only meet our military needs but also the economic and social needs of the country without reaching out to the world.

In this economic quagmire of ours which is surrounded by internal and external debts of about Rs50 trillion, we have our own fault besides others. Who does not know that the IMF and World Bank bilateral loan amount and other domestic resources have not only been embezzled but also looted. This issue is being debated in every circle, so it would be appropriate to leave it here and move on to the real issue.

The Muslim Ummah has been divided into groups and sects. The infidel considers every jurisprudence and class of Muslims as a Muslim, while a Muslim does not feel any shame in declaring a different sect as non-believers. The Islamic world is so divided that the issue has escalated into a full-blown war and the gulf in the Muslim world may widen in the near future.

The recent alignment of other Muslim countries against Iran suggests this. Most countries in the Islamic world still acknowledge Pakistan’s greatness, but we have gradually failed to adapt our foreign policy to the regional and international context. And yet no significant progress can be expected in this regard.
