While inaugurating the Green Line Bus serive, Prime Minister Imran Khan invited the PPP-led Sindh government to work together for the prosperity of Karachi. The premier noted that if Karachi is prosperous then the whole of Pakistan is prosperous as the highest revenue is generated from the port city. In 50 years, instead of moving forward, the city has become destruction. The city should get financial autonomy. To make it a modern city, Karachi’s management system needs to be fixed. Promises are being fulfilled under Karachi Transformation Plan.
PM Imran Khan inaugurated the Green Line project in Karachi which will provide great convenience to the citizens while the federal government says that work on the water project for Karachi is likely to be completed by 2023, meanwhile, work is underway to rehabilitate infrastructure in the city under Karachi Transformation Plan.
On the occasion of the inauguration of the Green Line project yesterday, a contradictory stand was taken by the Sindh government. Provincial Minister for Transport Owais Qadir and Information Minister Saeed Ghani, instead of appreciating the move of the prime minister, continued their traditional opposition.

The federal government wants to set up mega commercial and housing schemes off the coast of Karachi.
Buddu and Bundal islands are just a few miles off the coast of Karachi and for many years real estate tycoons and businessmen have been keen on construction projects on these islands while the Sindh government claims that the development of the island is subject to certain conditions and interests of local communities and fishermen.
Out of 8.2 million registered voters in Karachi, 3.2 million citizens exercised their franchise in the general elections while 4.5 million did not cast their votes but the important thing is that out of 3.2 million votes cast in Karachi, 1.5 million or 33% went to the PTI, while the PPP could get only 370,000 votes.
Yesterday, Sindh Information Minister Saeed Ghani said that the prime minister has taken the first step by inviting the provincial government to work together for the development of Sindh. Now the Sindh government should put aside political differences and work with the federation for the development of the province and solution of the problems of the people so that the people can get rid of the long-standing problems.
