KARACHI: In yet an unfortunate incident, a young man died after five hospitals reportedly refused to provide medical treatment.
According to details, a 22-year-old student named Arif Hashim suffered fatal injuries in a road accident near the Karimabad bridge earlier this month on 12th September. He was first immediately rushed to a private hospital nearby that lacked the needed medical facility to treat him.
He was later shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where staffers claimed that the hospital does not have CT Scan and neurosurgery facility, once again moving him to JPMC hospital.
Authorities at the Jinnah Hospital and Abbasi Shaheed Hospital kept on refusing the treatment. In this unfortunate loophole, he finally breathed his last in Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

The lack of treatment and shifting him between multiple Karachi hospitals led to his death. At least five public and private hospitals refused to treat him.
Sources said that a report has been prepared into the death and two government hospitals including Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) and Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre are blamed for their negligence in this regard.
