ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has recommended an increase in the prices of petroleum products (POL), according to several media reports.
According to details, the regulatory authority has sent a summary to the Petroleum Division, recommending an increase of Rs0.50 per litre in petrol price, Rs2.50 per litre in diesel, and Rs1 per litre in kerosene oil and light diesel oil.
Currently, petrol is being sold at Rs119.80 per litre, HSD at Rs116.53, LDO at Rs84.67 and kerosene oil at Rs87.75.
However, the final decision about increasing the prices of petroleum products will be taken by the finance ministry after consultation and approval of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
It is pertinent to mention here that the government had already raised the price of petrol by Rs1.71 per litre two weeks back.
Petrol and HSD are two major products that generate most of the revenue for the government because of their massive and yet growing consumption in the country.
