The valiant armed forces are engaged in a lengthy and continuous battle against terrorists harming our beloved nation. These hostile elements find no opportunity to hold the state hostage to enemy forces. Their only agenda is to weaken the armed forces of Pakistan. They have carried out deadly attacks on defence installations and other institutions. The Pakistan army has pursued them with all its might and many were banished and fled for their lives. Still, they find the resurgence to launch cowardly attacks.
The recent incident targeting Chinese engineers has raised fears of a new wave of terrorism. It is clear that anti-state elements are targeting Pakistan’s development projects and those working on them. Where do these threats come from? How do such elements manage to still attack us? There is no doubt that India is irked by the bilateral relations and fraternal friendship between Pakistan and China and has vehemently exposed CPEC projects. There have been several incidents targeting foreign workers to harm our mutual trust with friendly nations.
These elements are deluded as their nefarious designs will be in vain and cannot affect our time-tested friendship with China, neither will it halt the development pace in our country.
Pakistan and China and determined to overcome overcoming the threats posed by regional and global destructive elements. We cannot allow them to sabotage peace and security. The CPEC project will shape our destinies and transform the entire region. We cannot allow unscrupulous elements to succeed in their heinous activities. It will be a massive challenge for both countries to overcome these threats and defeat these forces. Nonetheless, both are determined to thwart all conspiracies that stand in our way and focus on development goals.
The recent tragedy has made it clear that there is a need for more stringent security arrangements for Chinese citizens working on our development projects. The incident is also a challenge to our security agencies that the enemy has carried out the brazen act.
The deteriorating situation in Afghanistan has compounded the problems for the whole region. The conditions are different and securing a long border on difficult terrain with lawlessness is the most challenging task. The Pakistan Army is working diligently on the cross-border situation and has rendered tremendous sacrifices. The security arrangements in the country should be further improved and those facilitating these hostile elements should be apprehended so that we can wipe the scourge of terrorism.
