HARIPUR: Tehreek-e-Labbaik (TLP) central leader Shafiq Amini has been arrested and transferred to Haripur Jail.
The arrest of Amini was carried out under 3 MPO, Central Jail Haripur confirmed the arrest. After the crackdown against the banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik, Dr. Shafiq Amini was appointed acting Amir of TLP.
The crackdown against the banned TLP began with the arrest of Allama Khadim Hussain Rizvi, after which hundreds of Tehreek activists were arrested across the country.
Dr. Shafiq Amini is a Ph.D. scholar and a close associate of Allama Khadim Rizvi. Before becoming acting Amir, he was leading the Punjab province on behalf of the movement.
It should be noted that on July 13, the federal cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided to maintain the ban on the banned Tehreek-e-LabbaikPakistan.
The cabinet said that the TLP has violated the law and the meeting also approved the report prepared by the committee on TLP.
