TAKHT BHAI: A young woman committed suicide in the Takhtabahi area of Mardan after her parents allegedly did not permit her to marry the man of her choice and instead “forced” her into an engagement with somebody else.
The 30-year-old woman, Yasmin shot herself at home in the Takhtabahi area of the Mardan district of K-P. As a result, she suffered bullet injuries and died.
Police said that Yasmin was not happy with her recent engagement as she did not like the boy however, her family wanted her to marry him and proceeded with the engagement ceremony. The woman was not happy with the development and after several days of discussion with her parents took her own life, police added.
Police said that Yasmin was a school teacher by profession and she wanted to have a well-educated husband so she was against her marriage to a close relative however, her parents and family decided otherwise.
It is worth mentioning here that earlier ago another female school teacher Naheed also committed suicide in Takhtbahi. She was married and she shot herself inside her house. Police said that she was 35 years old.
