ISLAMABAD: Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly traveled to Saudi Arabia to hold meetings with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and US Secretary Mike Pompeo.
As per reports by Hebrew-language media, Benjamin Netanyahu’s flight was detected on flight-tracking websites, with the Prime Minister landing in Neom, a Saudi city where they met with the crown prince. The prince was there for talks with visiting United Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
Netanyahu’s top-aide Topaz Luk tweeted that “[Defense Minister Benny] Gantz is making politics while the prime minister is making peace”, in reference to Gantz’s announcement of the establishment of a governmental commission of inquiry into Israel’s procurement of submarines and other naval vessels in the so-called “submarine affair.”

Over the weekend, Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, said his country has “supported normalisation with Israel for a long time, but one very important thing must happen first: a permanent and full peace deal between Israelis and Palestinians”.

During a meeting with the Saudi foreign minister last month, Pompeo had urged the Saudis to consider normalizing relations with Israel.
