KARACHI: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has informed that a criminal was killed in an encounter in Karachi’s Pehlwan Goth area today (Thursday).
According to details, the suspect was involved in at least 11 targeted killings and over 200 other street crimes. The suspect was also wanted to the CTD in the murder of ASI Ghulam Muhammad. The snatched weapon from the deceased ASI was also recovered.
Senior CTD officer Raja Umar Khattab informed that the suspected target killer, Nauman, was wanted in several cases and there were at least 12 cases registered against him in Karachi.
The senior CTD officer further informed that the accused had killed his maternal aunt and was arrested along with his brother and other accomplices in the robbery. He also claimed that Nauman was also involved in the murder of one of his own men and his wife.
Meanwhile, the Counter-Terrorism Department officials claimed to arrest two alleged terrorists during a raid conducted in Dera Ghazi Khan. Security officials also recovered explosive material from their possession. The detainees were identified as Usman and Azhar.
The CTD officials informed that the terrorists made plans to target sensitive installations. The detained terrorists have been shifted to an undisclosed location for further investigation.
