KARACHI: The Anti-Narcotics Forces in 16 operations carried out against drug trafficking at different parts of the country, seized 1.652 tonnes drugs while arrested 18 persons on drug charges and impounded 9 vehicles.
According to details, the Narcotics Forces seized 1294 kg morphine 14 kg Heroin, 336.6 kg Hashish, 4.8 kg Opium and 2.650 kg of Methamphetamine (ice).
An ANF spokesman informed that the worth of the seized drugs is Rs 1.308 billion in the international market. ANF Rawalpindi Airport Team detained a passenger at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad, and recovered 5.4 Kg Heroin concealed in his passenger bag.
ANF Rawalpindi Airport Team during routine profiling at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad, arrested an accused and recovered 500 Gram Ice concealed in his bag.
ANF Lahore Airport Team arrested a lady from Faisalabad Airport and recovered 8 Kg Amphetamine (Ice) concealed in 2 briefcases. ANF Lahore, Multan Team intercepted a vehicle near Kabirwala and recovered 7 Kg Heroin concealed in it and also arrested the occupants of the vehicle.
ANF Karachi Airport Team during routine profiling at Jinnah International Airport arrested an individual on suspicious of having gulped heroin-filled capsules.
ANF Karachi also arrested a local drug peddler along with 2 Kg Charas. All cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stations and further investigation is underway.
