GUJRANWALA: In another incident, a 12-year-old girl was sexually assaulted within the jurisdiction of Gujranwala’s Sabzi Mandi police station.
According to details, the accused identified as 22-year-old Gul Sher was arrested after the victim’s father caught him red-handed while rescuing his daughter. The victim was later shifted to a hospital in a critical condition.
A police spokesperson informed that the victim’s father heard screams of his daughter from a neighbourhood house and entered it to rescue the child. “We have arrested the accused Gul Sher and registered a case against him,” the spokesperson said.
Earlier, a five-year girl was raped and burned to death in Karachi. The deceased Marwa’s father Omar Sadiq said that his daughter had gone out to buy biscuits from a nearby shop at 7 pm, never to be seen again.
The investigation has revealed that Marwah may have been kidnapped sometime after leaving the shop. Police said that the girl’s burnt body was found in a piece of cloth at a trash heap on a plot on Sunday.
A medico-legal officer (MLO) confirmed that the five-year-old girl was sexually abused before being murdered. The MLO informed that the girl was subjected to sexual assault before being hit in her head with a stone.
