KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan has allowed overseas Pakistanis to open Roshan Digital Account in Euro currency.
At the launching ceremony of Roshan Digital Account held at the Embassy of Pakistan Paris on 18th August, members of the Pakistani community had asked for the facility in Euro also, in addition to Pakistan Rupee and US Dollar.
The embassy conveyed the request to the State Bank of Pakistan through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to which the central bank consented. Overseas Pakistanis can open Roshan Digital Account at various Pakistani banks.

Last month, Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved the initiative to introduce Roshan Digital Account for the overseas Pakistanis.
The prime minister was informed that the SBP was set to launch the Roshan Digital Account in the first week of September in collaboration with eight major banks of the country. The initiative would enable the overseas Pakistanis to open accounts in any bank of the country easily.
Prime Minister Imran appreciated the initiative of the SBP governor and the participating private banks to provide overseas Pakistanis with various facilities, including remittances, bill payments and investment.
