WASHINGTON: The number of confirmed coronavirus cases worldwide has surged to 26,194,004 and the pandemic has so far claimed over 867,607 lives.
According to the latest data, 18,455,738 patients have recovered from the pandemic so far.
The United States tops with nearly 6,290,737 cases and more than 189,964 deaths followed by Brazil with over 4,001,422 cases and more than 123,899 deaths. India has reported 3,853,406 cases while 67,486 deaths due to the coronavirus. The country has the third-highest number of recorded infections in the world.
Over 1,009,995 people have infected while 17,528 people died of the virus in Russia. Peru has reported 663,437 cases while 29,259 deaths.
Colombia has reported 633,339 cases while 20,348 death. South Africa has become one of the top five worst-hit countries in the coronavirus pandemic as the country reported over 630,595 infections. The country reported 14,389 deaths.
Mexico has reported 65,816 deaths and 610,957 cases. Spain has recorded 29,194 fatalities and 479,554 infections.
More than 439,172 cases have been reported in Argentina while 9,118 succumbed to death. In Chile, nearly 414,739 cases were confirmed, including more than 11,344 deaths.
Meanwhile, the death toll is 21,672 in Iran as the confirmed number of cases is almost 376,894. The United Kingdom has reported 41,514 fatalities and 338,676 infections.
Saudi Arabia has reported 317,486 cases of coronavirus, while 3,956 coronavirus deaths have been reported. France has reported 30,686 deaths and 293,024 cases.
