WASHINGTON: The number of people infected with the global pandemic coronavirus has risen to 25.63 million, and 854,763 people have died.
The United States ranks first among countries infected with the coronavirus, with more than 6,211,000 people infected and 1,87,736 deaths.
The number of corona patients in Brazil has risen to more than 3.91 million and the total number of deaths has reached 121,515. India ranks third among the countries affected by the coronavirus, with more than 3,691,000 people affected and a total of 65,435 deaths.
Russia ranks fourth among countries infected with the coronavirus, with 9,95,319 people infected and the total death toll at 17,176. In Peru, more than 652,000 people have been affected and 28,944 have lost their lives. The death toll from the coronavirus in South Africa has risen to 14,149, with more than 627,000 people affected. More than 599,000 people have been affected in Mexico, with 64,414 deaths.
17,941,701 people have recovered so far in the world and the number of active cases in the world at present is 6,840,868. The first 5 million cases of coronavirus were reported in 185 days while the last 5 million cases were reported in just 18 days.
The number of coronavirus cases worldwide reached 5 million on 20th May, and more than 10 million on 27th June. On 22nd July, the total number of cases reached 15 million. The total number of cases worldwide on 9th August was more than 20 million.
