QUETTA: Customs with the help of FC officials on Tuesday cracked down on the Pak-Afghan border and recovered foreign goods worth Rs 300 million.
According to the details, the goods recovered during the crackdown included 180,000 kg of beetle nuts worth Rs.270 million which was being smuggled illegally.
High-quality cigarettes and ‘pan-parag’ were also seized along with the smuggled goods, which were stored for importation from Noshki to the hilly areas near the border, at least 22 km from Noshki.
According to customs, the smuggled goods were planned to be smuggled in on motorcycles. A customs spokesman said that the bag was the largest consignment seized in any raid.
