ISLAMABAD: The federal capital police on the instructions of Prime Minister Imran Khan has formulated a strategy to crack down on the mafia, under a decision to demolish illegal structures has been made.
According to details, in the first phase, all the illegally constructed phases of the Ghauri Town area of Islamabad will be demolished. The CDA also decided to issue notices on illegal constructions this week.
Sources said that on the directive of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the federal police and the district administration have drawn up a plan to bring down illegal encroachments in the federal capital. Twelve Kahu, Bani Gala, Tarnol, Golra Ghauri Town, and Sihala were identified for encroachment.
Legal requirements have been met to register a serious case against the newly arrived owner of the town, Chaudhry Usman. Sources said that in the second phase, the operation against encroachments will be carried out in Bani Gala, Sihala, and Tarnol.
Police sources said that the district administration has also completed file work related to the occupation of government land in Ghauri Town, construction of cemeteries, schools, and plots on the ground. Police conducted an undercover investigation.
Investigations are underway to take immediate action against the Occupy Mafia. After Muharram, Prime Minister Imran Khan has set a time for a briefing on the mafia with the police and district administration.
