ISLAMABAD: A transgender person was found dead at his residential flat in Islamabad’s Sector G-11 today (Monday), a police spokesman informed.
According to details, the victim was a resident of the PHA Apartments. The police were called in by the residents after they noticed an unusual smell coming from the apartment.
Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASP) Rana Abdul Wahab informed that the police team found the body of a transgender person residing there who was later identified as Ejaz alias Gurriya.
ASP Rana informed that the body seems to be 12 to 14 days old and has been shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital for a postmortem examination.
“We will only be able to say something once the examination the report comes back,” Wahab said, adding that further investigations were underway.
Earlier in July, a transgender person was killed while another sustained bullet injury when a gunman stormed into their mansion located in the basement of a building in the main bazaar of Mohra Mando in Mandra.
The deceased has been identified as Abbas alias Kangna of Mandi Bahawaldin and the injured as Javed aka Ashi. The assailant identified as Sheery managed to escape after launching armed attack on the building.
