KARACHI: The district police have arrested two persons who arranged a pistol for Dr Maha, which she allegedly used to commit suicide in Karachi.
Addressing a press briefing, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) South Sheeraz Nazeer, the police have completed the investigation into the matter after four days and arrested two people.
Commenting on the development, he said that the 9-mm pistol belonged to a man named Saad Siddiqui, who had given it to Tabish Qureshi, who later handed it to Dr Maha.
The SSP south asserted that the doctor seemed disturbed on the day when she returned from her duty. It has emerged that the victim was suffering from some sort of depression and had talked about committing suicide previously.
Sheeraz Nazeer further said, “Her father entered the room as she was sitting with her sister. The victim went to the washroom and shot herself in the head.”
“Later, her father took out Dr Maha in an injured condition and called one of their relatives before shifting her to a hospital,” he informed. SSP South said that bullet crossed her skull and hit the washroom’s wall.
Earlier on Thursday, a close friend of Dr. Maha, Junaid Khan revealed that he and Maha were going to tie the knot soon. Moreover, he also revealed that Maha was on bad terms with her parents and she was having arguments with them frequently.
