KARACHI: A local businessman has filed a case against the officials of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) for allegedly kidnapping him for ransom.
According to details, the local businessman, Abdul Majid, was abducted from his home in Nazimabad area. He alleged that CTD official Ijaz Butt and his accomplices were involved in the abduction.
He further claimed that the CTD officials demanded Rs2 million as ransom for his release. Abdul Majeed informed that the culprits kept him in custody in the Garden area for two days.
“Later, they released me after receiving a ransom of Rs 7 lakh,” he added. The businessman has registered a case against the CTD officials at Rizvia police station under abduction provisions.
The victim further informed that he had lodged complaints before all the concerned departments. However, he said no action has been taken against the officials involved except registration of the case.
Meanwhile, relevant sources have informed that several complaints had already been lodged against the CTD officer Ijaz Butt over involvement in criminal activities.
