Today, the entire nation is celebrating the 73rd Independence Day of Pakistan with traditional enthusiasm. Independence Day celebrations are being held across the country and a pledge of allegiance to the country is being made.
Today is not just a day of shouting slogans for the independence of Pakistan, but today it reminds us of how great blessing freedom is to the world. It has been 73 years since the independence of Pakistan and the Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, and other communities are living with freedom.
In Pakistan, followers of every religion not only enjoy complete religious freedom but the government also provides full security and other measures on their festivals. The purpose of celebrating Independence Day is to reaffirm our commitment that we will protect the Holy Land of Pakistan in every possible way with our body, mind, and soul because nations that do not value freedom will never be remembered in history.
Unlike Pakistan, if we look at India, apart from Muslims and other minorities, Hindus themselves do not have basic human rights. Atrocities against Muslims in India have been going on for decades. However, after the formation of the BJP government, under the leadership of Narendra Modi, Muslims as well as other minorities in India are being mistreated.
Apart from abolishing the special status of Kashmir, the Indian government usurped the rights of religious minorities living in India under the controversial Citizenship Act. For generations, it has now been difficult for Muslims living in India to prove their citizenship.
Before the establishment of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had made it clear that Hindus and Muslims are two separate nations and their way of life and culture are completely different and these two nations cannot coexist, so the establishment of a separate Muslim state is inevitable. Even seven decades after the independence of Pakistan, his words are still applicable. Every controversial step taken by India further strengthens the Two Nation ideology.
The freedom we achieved was not a piece of cake, but our forefathers made innumerable sacrifices to get the blessing of this freedom. Today we need to pledge that we will not spare any sacrifice for the protection of Pakistan and will play our full role in the prosperity and development of the beloved homeland.
